WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION “The World is Your Classroom Training” with Chris Pirie, Microsoft General Manager of Field Readiness There has never been a better or more important time to be in the Learning and Development Profession. The rapid pace of innovation and broad adoption of computing technology breaking down the walls of the traditional classroom and challenging the assumptions of traditional pedagogical models. This session will examine the confluence of technology and training, and illustrates through examples how informational technology can work as a liberating force for training and development professionals, demanding and enabling our best thinking, and offering a range of incredible tools and opportunities for impact at scale. Chris will examine three current trends in information technology; The rapid proliferation of sophisticated personal computing devices, the emergence of cloud computing, and innovation in Natural User Interface.
