Transforming Learning Using Gamification

EVENT DESCRIPTION

This chapter meeting will focus on the Performance Improvement pillar of ATD's overall competency model.

Gamification is a hot-topic word for current talent development training using games for knowledge transfer. It sounds wonderful, yet, how do you do it? Puget Sound ATD member Leesa Ostrander will take you through her experience of using gamification to transform an existing new hire onboarding program to reach new heights of success.

Join us for an engaging discussion of the pitfalls and challenges of employing gamification in knowledge transfer training and learn from an expert on how to facilitate an activity to create and implement gaming to your training sessions. This class is for all types of training so bring your questions and let’s learn together.

Key Takeaways:

· Creating individualized scenario-based station training with gamification

· Discussion of pitfalls of gamification

· Implementing game station training to in-person classes
