ATDps: January 2019 Virtual Chapter Meeting
Building Culture and Driving Change - Messaging in Challenging Times
EVENT DESCRIPTION
Tell the truth – do you welcome disruption in your personal life, in your work team, in your organization? Embracing change is not a natural human reaction – fight or flight are more common responses, even when cracks are showing in the status quo. In a world moving at internet speed, changing to meet new threats and take advantage of new opportunities is necessary, but how can leaders make the pace manageable and do their best to ensure successful transitions for individuals, teams, and organizations?
Critical communications consultant Bryan Rutberg will share his playbook for helping leaders and their organizations drive change while building a change-embracing culture. Bryan’s work with organizations from local nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies when they need to plan just the right message and to drive it with a targeted and inclusive communication plan. He’ll share stories and tips from his 20-year corporate career and his subsequent experiences as the principal of 3C Comms, a Seattle-based critical communications firm.
Participants in our monthly meeting will learn key ingredients to driving successful change including:
- Clear, thoughtful, and directive communications
- Building a strong and positive messaging framework
- Developing a management vision and style including adaptability and learning as key pillars
As always we will have time for questions.
