What A Producer, Writer and Performer Can Teach You About Great Trainings with Bill Stainton

ASTD Puget Sound is proud to kick-off the new year with a fun presentation that will help you develop and deliver more engaging trainings. Find out how a 29-time Emmy Award winner applies lessons learned from the world of television to his presentations, and how you can do the same. The content will be relevant both to stand-up trainers and to instructional designers, as it will approach the material from 3 perspectives: the Producer lens, the Writer lens, and the Performer lens.

Through engaging lecture and brief exercises, participants will learn:

• How to think like a producer when crafting your presentations
• How to structure your presentations for maximum effect
• How to utilize predictable unpredictability to keep your audiences awake and interested
• A simple rule to help you plan your openings and closings
• How to use the secrets of comedy writers to make your speeches and stories come alive
• How to use acting tips to turn your presentation into a performance

About the Speaker
Bill Stainton has won Emmy Awards as a producer (the structure), a writer (the content), and a performer (the delivery). In addition he is an author; a business humorist; and an internationally-recognized Beatles expert. For 15 years he was the Executive Producer of Seattle’s legendary sketch comedy TV show, Almost Live, where he worked with people like Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres, and Jay Leno. Today, as a corporate keynoter, he creates entertaining and enlightening presentations enjoyed by audiences around the world!
