Ensure your training hits the mark with learners and the business by attending this 2-hour workshop that will focus on how you can achieve success with strategies and techniques designed to help you meet learning outcomes, embed on-the-job application into training delivery, and attend to the cultural nuances of organizations. Whether an internal practitioner, external consultant, vendor, or just exploring the training aspect of employee development, this session will deepen your skill set and equip you with tips and tools that you can apply immediately to your work.

Learning Objectives: After attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

 1.  Deliver effective training that meets intended learning outcomes;
 2.  Incorporate strategies that enable learners to apply training content on-the-job;
 3.  Integrate assessment techniques with training to check learners’ understanding, knowledge, and skill acquisition;
 4.  Assess and incorporate aspects of organizational culture into training delivery.

 

Lisa Downs is a Learning and Development Consultant for People and Organizational Effectiveness at the technology company EMC, focused on manager, leadership, and professional skills development.

In addition to serving as the 2008 President and 2006-2007 VP of Membership for the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) Puget Sound Chapter, Lisa served as the 2010 Chair of the ASTD Chapter Recognition Committee and is now the Chair of the ASTD National Advisors for Chapters committee and a member of the ASTD National Board of Directors for 2013-2014. She is the author of three books in the ASTD Trainer’s WorkShop series: Listening Skills Training, Time Management Training, and Negotiation Skills Training, and earned her Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential in 2010.
