 ASTDps: November 2013 Chapter Meeting

Integrate Talent Development at the Source: The Manager

Be prepared to discover a superior, but rarely used approach to integrating talent development based on fresh research about what exceptional managers actually do.  This approach puts managers at the center of development, integrating it with performance results on a daily basis, and providing a strong demand for training that gets applied.

Through small group exercises, including a mini-organizational assessment, participants will discover the proven practices that Exceptional Development Managers (EDMs) use to develop people while getting results and discuss breakthrough ideas to influence new momentum to increase managers’ integration of talent development in putting managers as the central force for developing people.

About the Speaker

Jeannie Coyle is known for inspiring and helping managers to develop people from experience while getting results - a powerful formula that brings together development and performance to fuel company growth. She is Managing Partner of Talent Savvy Manager, LLC and co-author of Make Talent Your Business: How Exceptional Managers Develop People While Getting Results.  She has over 30 years of talent management experience working with executives and HR leaders to develop people and organizations to implement strategy.  Before becoming a consultant in 1986, Jeannie held several C-suite HR leadership roles.  As Senior Vice President of HR, American Express, she co-designed and co-led (with her manager, Lou Gerstner) the launch of the groundbreaking talent management/succession planning system, that endures 30 plus years later.
