ATDps: May 2016 Chapter Meeting
Co-Creating Learner-Centric, Brain-Friendly Events
This chapter meeting will focus on the Instructional Design and Training Delivery pillars of ATD’s competency model.
In giving context to content, one is best served by applying a learner-centric, brain-friendly mindset. This immersive, experiential session will apply principles from neuroscience, design-thinking, appreciative inquiry, and critical thinking.
If you’re looking to expand your thinking and application of co-creating dynamic experiences, come join us to explore the possibilities. You’ll partake in a learner-centric, brain-friendly session and gain some fresh thinking and resources to co-create dynamic learning experiences.
During the session participants will-
• Engage in some neuroscience principles.
• Become immersed in a modified design-thinking exercise.
• Apply an appreciative inquiry mindset.
• Leverage critical thinking elements.
Upon departure, you’ll also be provided with resources to go deeper.
Mark Turner is a learning strategist and performance consultant with 26 years of service at the Boeing Company. His mission at Boeing: Co-create world-class, learning, training and performance solution sets that enable employees to become exceptional contributors to Boeing’s future.
Mark obtained a master’s degree in Organization Development from Pepperdine’s amazing MSOD program. He is a Boeing designated expert on assessments, credentialed in the Global Competency Inventory, Birkman, Harrison and Hogan instruments. He is a Boeing representative for the Masie Learning Center, serves on a performance consulting community of practice and is a member of the National Career Pathway advisory board.
