Role: Sr. Instructional Designer

Type: Full-time

Location: Remote and onsite in Seattle, WA mix (Must be local to Seattle area!)

Summary:

The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for the design and development of training courses and performance solutions to drive critical business outcomes. The Senior Instructional Designer interacts with client team members and Caveo Learning associates as well as subject matter experts to ensure that identified deliverables achieve the desired learning outcomes. May lead design efforts on client projects and provide guidance to other Instructional Designers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Applies advanced instructional design skills

o Performs and execute all phases of instructional systems design

o Understands and appropriately applies adult learning theories

o Understands and applies eLearning, ILT, VILT, Job Aides and other modes of learning

o Works with clients to assess their needs; provides guidance and recommendation

  • Focus on successful project completion

o Works well independently and on teams to accomplish goals

o Succinct and consistent communication; provides clear project updates; escalates issues as appropriate

o Meets deadlines; works within allotted budgets

o Identifies and appropriately communicates potential risks

o Follows Caveo methodologies where applicable

o Works well with internal and external partners

o Lead design efforts and/or provides guidance to Instructional Designers if requested.

  • Utilizes a consultative mindset

o Maintains and advances industry knowledge

o Creates and manages client relationships; works with client stakeholders and SMEs using influencing and engagement skills

o Assists in building learning strategies for company-wide initiatives

o Works with client to align project elements to business outcomes

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, Organizational Design or equivalent curriculum.
  • Thorough understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Experience with all phases of instructional system development including planning, coordination, implementation, revision, presentation, and maintenance of training systems.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Distinctive ability to work with subject matter experts to gain knowledge of content and transform knowledge into effective learning solutions.
  • Strong cross-functional influencing and engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated skill of succinct communication with executives and senior leaders.
  • Experience with performing various forms of business analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing and evaluating complex learning solutions and development programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, team building and problem solving skills required.
  • Experience with rapid curriculum development tools.
  • Experience with behavior analysis based courses.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Design or equivalent curriculum that focuses on adult learning or learning technologies.
  • Advanced certifications such as CPLP or CPT.
  • Knowledge and skills with online learning technologies.
  • Articulate, Lectora, SharePoint, Adobe Captivate, Flash, Learning Management Systems and survey tools.

Requirements:  Experience designing blended learning solutions involving ILT, eLearning, webinars, and job aids for products, software, systems, sales, and soft skills; Development experience a plus

Summary:

Caveo Learning is hiring a Sr. Instructional Designer who will be responsible for the design and development of training courses and performance solutions to drive critical business outcomes. The candidate will interact with client team members and Caveo Learning partners as well as subject matter experts to ensure that course material achieves the desired learning outcomes. In addition, the candidate will:

    Assess client needs to determine appropriate performance solutions.

    Provide guidance and specialized knowledge to other members of the team.

    Work with internal and external business partners to develop instructional strategies and learning materials to support the overall curriculum.

    Use strong project management processes to ensure excellence and timely completion of development projects.

    Work closely with stakeholders to assess the integrity of instructional materials and support the ongoing assessment of instructional effectiveness for all existing and future training programs.

    Cultivate, develop and manage strong, lasting client relationships at a senior management level.

    Make recommendations to management on options and critical learning and development process needs.

    Assist in setting learning strategies for company-wide initiatives.

Desired Skills & Experience

        6 - 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of work and education.

        Thorough understanding of adult learning principles.

        Distinctive ability to work with subject matter experts to gain knowledge of content and transform knowledge into effective learning solutions.

        Demonstrated skill of succinct communication with executives and senior leaders.

        Experience with performing various forms of business analysis.

        Strong cross-functional influencing and engagement skills.

        Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
